Gerry brings over 40 years of in-depth experience in ICT. Gerry was the President of Aliant Telecom and CEO of NBTel during a period of significant deregulation in the Canadian industry. Gerry has also proven to be an innovator with such start-up IT companies as Q1 Labs, iMagicTV, Brovada Technologies and Radian6. Gerry has been recognized nationally, including the prestigious 1997 Canadian Information Productivity Association (CIPA) Innovator of the Year and Hall of Fame, Knowledge Industry Person of the Year 2002, the 2003 Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal, the Top 50 CEO Award in Atlantic Canada in 2003 and an Honorary Doctor of Letters from The University Of New Brunswick – Saint John.
Bill is Vice President, Canadian Federal Programs with AMEC Earth and Environmental. He held senior management positions with J.D. Irving, and NB Power. He sits on the Boards of the Canadian Water Network (10 years as Chair), the Canadian Rivers Institute and ECO Canada. Bill was a Member of the National Roundtable on the Environment and the Economy where he Co-Chaired a Task Force on Conservation in the Boreal Forest. He acts in an advisory capacity to NRTEE, the Networks of Centres of Excellence (NCE) and the National Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC).
Chris has dedicated the last 16 years of his engineering career to fostering the global commercialization of technology from Atlantic Canada. Chris founded Mathis Instruments Ltd. to commercialize his wife Nancy’s Ph.D. research at UNB. The resulting products and company were awarded numerous distinctions including Profits Magazines’ Top 50 Start-ups, BDC’s Young Entrepreneurs of the Year and an international R&D 100 Award. Chris then worked with UNB as Knowledge Transfer Manager.
Robert is a seasoned telecommunications executive having spent over twenty-eight years in the industry and twenty years at Aliant (and NBTel) - a telecommunication company known worldwide for its innovation and success. Robert has held a number of executive positions including President of Innovatia, Senior Vice President of Aliant, President of NBTEL Global, President of NBTEL Interactive, President of ISM - Datacor, and President of NBTEL Mobility. He has also been appointed to over 15 Board level positions while at NBTEL as well as while he was incubating and advising several start-up technology companies.
John founded an energy technology company that invented a directional drilling product for the oil sands. The company was eventually successfully acquired by Nowsco. After the acquisition Mr. Adams led their global operations team. After leaving Nowsco, Mr. Adams joined with Jacques Whitford as President and International Lead. John is an engineer with extensive experience in product commercialization but also international partnerships
Jeff has a tremendous amount of experience in leading financial devisions. Jeff was the CFO for Radian6 (acquired by Salesforce), CFO for Q1 Labs (acquired by IBM) and CFO for ImagicTV (acquired by Alcatel). He was also the Vice President of Corporate Finance for Deloitte & Touche where he assisted companies with the securing of debt and equity capital, and where he provided advising for mergers and acquisitions. Currently Jeff works with ICT startups in the Maritime region, helping position them and providing them with investment capital to fulfill their commercialization aspirations.
